Retemataeng Helau!
Once a year we Dusseldorf natives are besides ourselves with joy. After christmas is over and the new year has been welcome with champagne, during the time when German winter gets colder and colder, the "fifth season" starts: CARNIVAL comes and brings sessions and street carnival along.
A special event among these sessions is the so-called Retemataeng – the session in Dusseldorf-Unterrath marquee. Arranged and supervised by the chief of the famous Dusseldorf carnival procession Hermann Schmitz and his team Sparks of Unterrath.
We do not miss out this great event. Although we do not participate in street carnival we do not miss the chance to join the Retemataeng - session (since 2003).
